Why use a Counselling Psychologist?/
When engaging with corporate clients, Dr Tim Walker is able to combine his clinical expertise with a long-held understanding of business culture gained within major PLC companies in the UK and overseas, as well as experience of the challenges and pressures specific to smaller businesses.
Tim has a specific doctoral research interest in burnout and resilience, and applies this knowledge to his work with corporations large and small, whether advising on organisational strategies to minimise the costs of burnout (in both human and financial terms) or working with individuals vulnerable to, or suffering from, burnout and other stress-related problems.
Ethics and Guidelines
Dr Tim Walker subscribes to the guidelines established by the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) and the BPS (British Psychological Society), which include confidentiality and data protection.
Available for a wide range of psychological issues on an ad hoc basis for employees (including Employee Assistance Programmes) or on a retained basis to guarantee access to Dr Walker’s services on a regular basis (on half-day or full-day terms).
Dr Tim Walker is a member of the British Psychological Society and British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy coaching divisions/special interest groups and draws from his own corporate and consultancy background and latest Coaching Psychology research to offer a unique combination of clinical and coaching skills. Again, this is available on an ad hoc basis or a longer term retained relationship.
Drawing from his research knowledge-base, Tim is able to design and deliver resilience and stress-management training specific to the needs of your organisation. This is available on a one-to-one basis as well as larger workshops for those organisations wishing to reach a larger number of employees.
He is an experienced trainer and workshop facilitator, and also lectures on doctoral and postgraduate Psychology courses at City University London.
Additionally, Tim is well connected with a number of outstanding professionals who work in this space and can draw on their skills and services if larger scale programmes are required.
Dr Walker is a passionate believer in the need for more psychological input in the workplace. People are the most important resource for any organisation, and it is vital to think through the psychological implications of corporate decision-making.
He is available on a consultancy basis to help provide a psychological perspective to issues facing your organisation, including:
- Disputes within the organisation
- Changing corporate culture
- Managing growth or downsizing
- Mergers and acquisition
- Workplace bullying
- Redundancies
- Crisis management
Dr Walker is available to help with mediation and conflict resolution whether internal (i.e: between employees) or external (i.e: between your organisation and another). This is often a more cost effective solution to help manage differences than expensive litigation.
